Jordi Riera i Romaní, PhD

Diploma in Teacher Training, specialization in Experimental Sciences at Blanquerna University Teachers college. BA in Philosophy and Humanities, Pedagogy and Didactics section, with a specialization in Social Pedagogy from the Faculty of Philosophy and Humanities, Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), and PhD in Pedagogy from UAB. He has long experience as a teacher in different educational centres, high schools and universities, as well as developing different organizational roles such as head of department, degree and placement coordinator, academic and guidance vice dean, university dean, vice rector for teaching and academic vice rector, vice rector for teaching innovation and quality, among others.

He is currently a Full Professor of Education at Ramon Llull University (URL) and dean of the FPCEE Blanquerna (URL). He is also a teacher in Degree, Master’s and PhD courses at FPCEE Blanquerna (URL) and, in the field of research, he is the main researcher of the Research Group in Pedagogy, Society and Innovation with support of Information and Communication Technologies (PSITIC), at FPCEEB (URL). He often takes part as a guest lecturer in congresses and conferences, and is the author of numerous articles and books, and is very present in social mass media in Catalonia in issues concerning Education, Social Pedagogy, and Educational Innovation.

His main lines of research are: analysis and diagnosis of “critical” socio-educational situations, socio-educational co-responsibility community networks and “life wide learning”, and assessing the impact of ICT on learning and creation of new models for educational support and transformation, among others.
